Area Digital Marketing Manager (China)

Based at either our Corporate Office in Singapore or Regional Office in Shanghai, China, we are looking for a passionate and energetic individual to join us as Area Digital Marketing Manager (China).

Job Responsibilities:

Reporting to Vice President, Online Marketing, the incumbent will be an in-market (China) specialist in developing and implementing marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and drive traffic to the Group’s Marketing Channels, benefitting both Chinese and International Hotels. The role will need to combine the Group’s business requirements with his/her knowledge of the local market and local consumer insights and obtain buy in from the relevant stakeholders at the group and property level to manage the work required. The marketing channels that this role will manage includes Alitrip Store, Chinese Social Media Channels, and Chinese hotel’s brand website.


The Role:

  • Review and validate agency recommendations of market trends to drive brand awareness of the Brand Website, AliTrip storefront, and local social media channels to Chinese consumers.
  • Coordinate and work with hotels within the group to identify and manage inbound and outbound marketing opportunities towards Chinese consumers.
  • Review monthly reports from marketing agency on the operations and performance of Brand Website, Alitrip Store and Social media Channels.
  • Manage the agency to ensure that the agree scope of work is delivered.
  • Provide guidance to hotel properties to participate in promotions on official/identified platforms e.g. AliTrip.
  • Facilitate and guide hotels in the usage of Brand website.
  • Manage in market social media profile e.g. WeChat, Weibo, etc.
  • Lead & drive revenue and brand awareness towards Chinese and International Hotels via group’s Chinese marketing channels e.g. Brand Website, Alitrip Store, Social Media Channels etc.

The Person:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing social media and digital marketing activities with a focus on driving brand awareness and traffic for ecommerce platforms.
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science/IT, Marketing, Art/Design/Creative Multimedia, Mass Communications, Advertising/Media or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of performance, search and content marketing and keep up to date with the latest digital marketing trends within China.
  • Candidates with who have worked in similar roles and have experience with AliTrip e-commence platform will have an added advantage.
  • Highly organized, and able to work and meet deadlines under pressure, with impeccable follow-through.
  • Able to multi-task when necessary, but also maintain focus on the key objective of each initiative.
  • Excellent vendor and/or team management skills including experience managing teams in different geographical locations.
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable with conducting trainings and presentations in both English and Mandarin.
