Pan Pacific Hotels Group appoints Vice President of Human Capital & Development; new hotel openings to create 2,000 jobs
Singapore, 31 October 2012 – Pan Pacific Hotels Group has announced the appointment of Jill Tan-Gunter as Vice President of Human Capital & Development.
In this role, Jill will be leading the Human Capital & Development team and driving the Group's global talent and capability strategies as Pan Pacific Hotels Group expands its portfolio under both its Pan Pacific and PARKROYAL brands. Jill will also be responsible for strengthening the Group's values across over 30 properties in Asia, Australia and North America.
A Singapore citizen, Jill joins the Group with more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality field which includes appointments in various cities in China such as Xi'an, Guilin, Beijing and Xiamen.
Jill was most recently Vice President, Human Resources at Marco Polo Hotels Group. Based in Hong Kong, she provided strategic human resources leadership to the corporate office and hotels in Hong Kong, China and the Philippines. In addition, Jill developed and oversaw key initiatives to enhance the company's human resources systems, foster internal communications and promote people development.
Prior to that, Jill spent 16 years with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts during which she held Human Resources roles at property, area and regional levels. In her last appointment as Area Director, Human Resources – Asia Pacific with the hotel company, Jill was part of the opening and pre-opening teams of 14 properties across locations including Tokyo, Koh Samui, Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
She also designed and aligned human resources strategies to fulfill business and location-specific goals. These included initiatives combining both internal talent development and external recruitment to support the company's growth in China.
Jill's leadership received recognition amongst her peers when she attained the highest rating in satisfaction level in the 2009 Opinion Survey evaluated by the company's Asia Pacific Directors of Human Resources.
She also garnered deep knowledge of China during her eight years with Holiday Inn hotels in Xi'an, Guilin and Beijing and Crown Plaza Harbour View Xiamen.

Pan Pacific Hotels Group is rapidly extending its footprint with five new properties in China and Singapore in the next 12 months.
2013 will see the launch of three properties in China – Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Ningbo, which will share the compound with Pan Pacific Ningbo, making it the Group's first joint hotel and serviced suites property; Pan Pacific Tianjin; and PARKROYAL Serviced Suites Green City Shanghai which will mark the brand's debut in China.
In Singapore, PARKROYAL on Pickering, a PARKROYAL Collection hotel, the flagship PARKROYAL with a hotel-in-a-garden concept, opens its doors at the end of this year; while Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road, the Group's second serviced suites property in the country, will launch early next year.
With these openings, the Group's portfolio of hotels will create close to 2,000 job opportunities, employing over 10,000 associates across Asia, North America and Oceania.
Pan Pacific Hotels Group was recently ranked 12th as an employer brand amongst 75 companies in Singapore in the 2012 Randstad Awards. Launched in 2000, the Randstad Awards has now expanded across 14 countries and 1,700 companies worldwide.
