Singapore, 5 August 2015 – Eight “Pan Pacific” and PARKROYAL hotels and serviced suites in Singapore are all geared up to mark the upcoming Golden Jubilee weekend in ways which honour the nation’s past, celebrate its achievements and showcase its unique cultural fabric.

Owned and managed by Singapore-based Pan Pacific Hotels Group, the eight participating properties are Pan Pacific Singapore, Pan Pacific Orchard, Singapore, Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road, Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Orchard, PARKROYAL on Beach Road, PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road, PARKROYAL on Pickering and PARKROYAL Serviced Suites Singapore.

Reading of the Proclamation of Independence
All eight “Pan Pacific” and PARKROYAL hotels and serviced suites will screen a live broadcast of the reading of the Proclamation of Independence by the late former Prime Minister Mr Lee Kuan Yew on National Day 9 August at 9.00am. In-house guests will be invited to participate in this event where local breakfast favourites such as nasi lemak, kaya and butter toast, pan-fried carrot cake, nyonya kueh, coffee with an SG50 latte art design, and teh-tarik will be served.

National Day Parade celebration
In the evening of 9 August, the three Serviced Suites properties will screen live the National Day Parade live on all televisions in their public areas.

At PARKROYAL on Pickering, a party will be held at the Orchid Club Lounge from 6.00pm to 9.00pm for Club floor guests who will get to enjoy a flair bartending showcase, a liquid buffet of Singapore Slings, orchid-inspired cocktails and wines, an enhanced menu of local delights, and stunning aerial displays at the National Day Parade from the adjoining rooftop terrace.

SG-themed hotel decorations and associate dress code
In the week leading up to National Day, PARKROYAL on Beach Road has decorated its lobby in the style of olden-day Singapore, complete with a stall serving complimentary iconic local snacks and drinks such as kacang putih and bandung.

Over at Pan Pacific Singapore, the driveway, Atrium, Pacific Club and swimming pool area have been decked out in red and white buntings, fairy lights, flags, orchid floral centrepieces and colourful decals to generate a festive atmosphere throughout the expansive 790-room hotel. Framed images of Singapore from the yesteryears are also displayed around the lobby, creating interesting talking points among guests.

From 1 to 10 August, all associates at Pan Pacific Singapore will wear a Singapore flag collar pin, and non-operational associates will also don the national colours of red and white. Meanwhile, the Front Office team on duty at PARKROYAL on Beach Road will wear traditional Chinese, Malay and Indian ethnic costumes on 9 August in celebration of the nation’s rich cultural diversity and racial harmony.
